When I think back on my time in school, I couldn’t tell you specifics of what I learned when or what scores I got on any tests. There are no lessons that stand out or book reports that I daydream over, and I would be hard pressed to even tell you the names of many of my peers back then. What I do remember though, with absolute clarity are my teachers, every one of them, and more importantly how they made me feel. Perhaps it is because of this that I became a teacher or perhaps it is because I like being the tallest person in the room for once but fact remains that I love what I do, and it is my mission to make every child feel good about themselves so that they can look back in 20,30,40 years and have fond memories of their days in elementary school. If I can do that, and teach some stuff along the way, I’d say life doesn’t get much better. Prior to joining LASD in 2017, I received my bachelor’s degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and then my Masters in Education at University of San Francisco. I have been teaching since 2015.
